Gelfand Lab
at Northwestern University - Chicago, IL
Intracellular transport of organelles, RNA, and protein complexes in the cells is performed by motor proteins, kinesins and dyneins that move along microtubules, and myosins that move along actin filaments. The main interest in our laboratory is to elucidate the mechanisms and regulation of intracellular transport in various cell types, and coordination of multiple motor proteins present on the cargo surface.
